"The Second Story", EL DISCO de Kazuko Kawashima

Muchos de ustedes la conocen. No por su nombre sino por su hermosa voz. Hablamos de Kazuko Kawashima ( 川島和子 ), la cantante que le pone su magica voz a muchos de los BGMs (musica de fondo) de Saint Seiya. "Inside a Dream", "Aria of the Three", "Sad Brothers" o "Deukalion's big floods" son algunas de esas piezas. Aquellos que se enamoraron de su voz tambien se habran preguntado ¿tendra algun disco propio por algun lado? bueno, la respuesta es que SII!! De hecho ella ha sacado discos como "solista" pero haciendo scat en su mayoria. "The Second Story" es un disco mas personal y podria considerarse EL DISCO. No seria el primer disco "solista" de la Sra. Kawashima, aunque si el ultimo que saco :P Es un poco dificil de conseguir ya que lo unico que encontre fueron los demos de las canciones :S

Many of you know her. Not by her name but her beautiful voice. We're talking about Kazuko Kawashima (川島和子), the singer who gives her magical voice to many BGMs from Saint Seiya. "Inside a Dream", "Aria of the Three", "Sad Brothers" or "Deukalion's big floods" are a few of them. Those who fell in love with her voice may have wondered ¿Does she have some own album somewhere? Well, the answer is YESS!! In fact, she recorded albums as "soloist" but doing scat mostly. "The Second Story" is a more personal album and could be considered THE ALBUM. It wouldn't be the first solo album from Ms. Kawashima but it would be the last one released :P Is a little hard to find because the only thing i found was the demos of the songs :S

Bueno, hay que aclarar que Kazuko Kawashima hace tiempo que es "solista", es decir, ella no pertenece a ningun grupo ni nada parecido. En cuanto al disco, este fue producido por la misma Kazuko Kawashima. El tema 01 "Yamato a capella" pertenece al OST de un anime llamado "Space Battleship Yamato" ( 宇宙戦艦ヤマト ) de los años 70's. El tema 02 "Mune no soko no koori" fue compuesto y arreglado por una vocalista japonesa y gran amiga de Kazuko: Risa Ohki (大木 理紗 ), reconocida por haber puesto su voz en varios discos vocales de Final Fantasy. El tema 03 "Salon memoir" y el 04 "Toori Ame" son versiones vocales de "That will be fine" y "you left me in a lazy" respectivamente, de un disco llamado  "Miwaku no love scat ~ Invisible Lips" del año 1987. Un disco integramente de Scat cantado por Kazuko Kawashima. Justamente el tema "Toori Ame" es uno de esos medio tristes en los cuales kazuko kawashima sabe como emocionarnos :)  El tema 06 "Futatsubuno tane", al igual que el 01 "Yamato a capella", fue compuesto por Hiroshi Miyagawa ( 宮川泰 ), el compositor de toda la musica de fondo de Space battleship Yamato.
Es interesante (y a la vez decepcionante, quizas) que no se incluyera alguna pieza de Saint Seiya ya que esta cantante es una parte fundamental de los BGMs de la serie.

Well, we must clarify that Kazuko Kawashima is "soloist" for a long time, i.e., she doesn't belong to any group or band. As for the album, this was produced by Kazuko Kawashima herself. The track 01 "Yamato a capella" belongs to an anime OST called "Space Battleship Yamato" ( 宇宙戦艦ヤマト ). An anime from the 70's. The track 02 "Mune no soko no koori" was composed and arranged by a japanese singer and a big friend of Kazuko: Risa Ohki (大木 理紗 ), who can be recognized for singing in the Final Fantasy albums. The track 03 "Salon Memoir" and the 04 "Toori Ame" are vocal versions of "That will be fine" and "you left me in a lazy" respectively, from an album called "Miwaku no love scat ~ Invisible Lips" (released in 1987). A whole album with scat sung by Kazuko Kawashima. Precisely, the track "Toori Ame" is one of those sad pieces where Kazuko Kawashima knows how to touch our hearts :) The track 06 "Futatsubuno tane", as well as 01 "Yamato a capella", was composed by Hiroshi Miyagawa ( 宮川泰 ), the composer of the whole soundtrack of Space battleship Yamato.
It's interesting (and at the same time disappointing, maybe)  that it wasn't included any Saint Seiya piece because this singer is an essential part of the BGMs from the series.
