The "Hits" album (which unofficially had to change its name to "Hits I" for obvious reasons ;) had a good acceptance from the public, the sales from that album and the OST1 were good, and the rating of the series was high as well as the sales of the Bandai Toys. So, an idea was turning around the heads of the TOEI's executives: ¿Why not release another Saint Seiya Vocal album ? Remember that although Saint seiya have a magnificent Background music, it's the vocal songs which are broadcasted and generate the sensation of being actual/fashionable in the animes (and $ales of course).
Finalmente TOEI llego a un acuerdo con Hiroaki matsuzawa 松澤浩明, el líder y guitarrista de Make Up que era el principal compositor de las canciones del álbum HITS, para componer y tocar las canciones sin los demás integrantes de Make Up.
Once the project had green light, TOEI searched again for Make Up to perform the songs but the group wasn't available. Maybe because the members had other commitments or because the separation process was already underway (frictions among the members or simply the need to follow their own way). The thing is that the band couldn't be gathered. Finally, TOEI reached an agreement with Hiroaki Matsuzawa 松澤浩明, The leader and guitar player of Make Up who was the principal composer of the songs in the HITS Album, to compose and play the songs without the other members of Make Up.

Given that the band was very popular at that moment (and to want that the sales won't be affected with the "staff change"), they decide to put the name "Make Up Project" to the band who played the songs to give the illusion that Make Up was still there, even if the only original member from Make Up was just Hiroaki Matsuzawa and the others were, practically, guest musicians (Make Up Project lasted almost the same time of the HITS II album's repercussion. Then, the band disbanded and mutated in other bands which will also have relation with Saint Seiya in the future, but that is another story ;). Anyway, in this album there were 2 male singers, the mythical Mitsuko Horie 堀江 美都子 participated in the song "Lullaby" (perhaps the best song in the album) and Hiroaki Matsuzawa composed 7 songs. The project was materialized the July 1, 1987. At that time, the anime was starting the "searching for the Sagittarius' cloth" part (previous to the "12 temples" part) and the manga serialization in the Shounen Jump was already in the in the final part of the leo temple.

The album has 10 tracks. 8 of them are vocal songs and the remaining 2 are instrumental themes which work as opening and ending for the album. This instrumental themes are a mix of songs from the album. Overture contains Nebula Chain/You're Phoenix and "Termination" contains Lullaby/Golden Heart. This album has one particularity: all the vocal songs are dedicated or have some relation with a character in the series. Then we have "Diamond dust" (Hyoga and Natassia, his mother), Golden Heart (Seiya and seika, his sister), Lullaby (Athena), Nebula Chain (Shun), You're Phoenix (Ikki), Dragon Blood (shiryu), Stop the Fate (Shun Rei and Shiryu), and we're Fearless Warriors (the 5 bronze Saints). It's worth to say that the Saint seiya's creator himself, Masami Kurumada, wrote the lyric of the song which give the name to the album "Ikanaru Hoshi no shita ni" (we're fearless warriors).
Episodio 30 Episodio 46 Episodio 108
Some tracks From this album were also used in the series: Lullaby in the episode 30 (the famous scene where Athena "tries to kiss" Seiya), Nebula Chain in the episode 46 (Andromeda vs. Gemini), and Diamond Dust in the episode 108 (the Hyoga's flashback of his training alongside jacob )
